The Belgian SUP Tour 2025 got off to a strong and dynamic start with the Paddle of the Kempen, an event that kicked off the new season in style.
Ideal conditions and broad participation
Set against the scenic backdrop of the Kempenโs waterways, the race offered excellent early-season conditions and attracted a large and enthusiastic turnout of both competitive and recreational paddlers. Though not a Belgian Championship event, the race still featured high-level performances and intense competition.
Dominant performances in elite categories
In the menโs elite category, Kjell De Bruyn delivered a commanding performance, establishing a clear lead early on and extending it throughout the race to secure a well-deserved victory. On the womenโs side, Loranne Vleminckx showed similar dominance, paddling with precision and power to finish well ahead of her closest challengers.
A season opener reconnecting the SUP community
The event served as a vibrant and positive season opener, bringing the SUP community back together after the off-season. The supportive atmosphere, smooth organisation, and participation across all age groups reflected the inclusive spirit of the Belgian SUP Tour.
