The Bruges Classics organisation is honored to host the 2024 Belgian Long Distance Championships after the unexpected cancellation of the event in Kessenich on September 8th. The competition will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the stunning Domein ‘aan de plas’ in Bruges, located at Blankenbergse dijk 75, 8000 Bruges.

10-Year Jubilee of the Legendary Race

Adding to the excitement, this year’s event will celebrate a significant milestone: the 10th Anniversary Jubilee of the iconic long-distance race. This special occasion promises to bring together elite competitors and passionate fans, marking a decade of extraordinary races and unforgettable memories.

As a reminder, this race replaces the Belgian Championship in Kessenich, which had to be canceled earlier this month due to blue-green algae.

Program:

• Elite Men and Women: 10km (one start lap, 4 base laps, and one power lap (optional)).
• U16 and Recreational: 6.5km (one start lap, 2 base laps, and one power lap (optional)).
• Kids (U14): 3.5km (one start lap and one power lap).

The Course:

• Start Lap: Start – buoy 1 – buoy 2 – buoy 3 – outside the islands – buoy 1 – buoy 2.
• Base Lap: buoy 2 – buoy 3 – outside the islands – buoy 1 – buoy 2 (+ finish).
• Power Lap (optional): buoy 2 – buoy 3 – buoy 4 – buoy 2 (+ finish).
