DESCRIPTION:Cancelled due to the continued presence of blue-green algae.\nStand Up Paddle Brings Movement to”Het Eilandje”\nBelgian Stand Up Paddle Championships\nDuring the weekend of 29–30 August 2026\, Het Eilandje in Beweging will host a full weekend dedicated to Stand Up Paddle (SUP)\, the fastest-growing watersport in Flanders. \n \nOn Saturday\, 29 August\, the Belgian SUP Tour (BST) will organize the Official Belgian Long Distance SUP Championship\, where Belgium’s top SUP athletes will compete for the national title over a challenging long-distance course. \nOn Sunday\, 30 August\, the focus shifts to the BST Technical Race. This spectacular event\, which counts towards the overall Belgian SUP Tour rankings\, combines speed\, technical skills\, and agility on a demanding course featuring buoy turns\, pivot turns\, and short sprint sections. \nThroughout both days\, the general public will also have the opportunity to discover the sport. From 12:00 until 16:00\, free SUP introduction sessions will be offered continuously under the guidance of experienced instructors. Participants of all ages can safely experience why Stand Up Paddle has become one of the fastest-growing watersports in recent years. \nSunday will also mark the official launch of a brand-new competition format: the first round of the BST Team Competition.
