DESCRIPTION:The Battle of the Yser \nHistory. Competition. Passion. \nThe Battle of the Yser has become one of the flagship events of the Belgian SUP Tour and the BeNeSup Tour. Held on the iconic waters of Nieuwpoort\, this event combines exciting racing with one of Belgium’s most beautiful paddle venues. \n\nFollowing the cancellations earlier this season caused by the exceptional cyanobacteria situation\, the Battle of the Yser will now host two Belgian Championships. During this unique event\, the Belgian Long Distance Championship and the Belgian Sprint Championship will both be contested\, making it one of the highlights of the 2026 BST season. \n\nThe event welcomes Elite\, Junior\, Cadet\, Kids and Recreational paddlers\, offering competitive racing for experienced athletes as well as an accessible challenge for newcomers. As part of the BeNeSup Tour\, international competitors are also warmly invited to join the action.\nCompetitors will race on the characteristic waters of the Spaarbekken and the River Yser\, providing a varied course that combines technical skills\, endurance and speed. \n\nWhether you are aiming for a Belgian title\, valuable BST ranking points or simply looking forward to an unforgettable day on the water\, the Battle of the Yser promises an outstanding atmosphere and top level racing. \nThe complete Notice of Race\, including schedule\, race courses\, categories\, competition rules and practical information\, is available.
