Welcome to the Belgian SUP Tour (BST)!

The Belgian SUP Tour (BST) is the ultimate stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) circuit that you can’t afford to miss. As one of the most dynamic SUP racing events in Europe, the BST offers an exciting array of competitions across Belgium, including thrilling stops in France and the Netherlands. Our tour showcases various race formats such as Ultra Long Distance, Long Distance, Technical Race, and Sprint, providing opportunities for elite athletes, enthusiastic amateurs, kids, and teams alike.

Why Choose the Belgian SUP Tour (BST)?

Belgium’s unique water landscapes make it an ideal location for stand-up paddleboarding enthusiasts. The Belgian SUP Tour offers participants the chance to paddle through flat waters, canals, enclosed lakes, and open waters. The BST not only hosts the prestigious Belgian National Championships but also features its own ranking system, celebrating top performers in each age category, including special awards for young paddlers under 14.

Meet Vincent Claeskens

Vincent is the driving force behind the Belgian SUP Tour. An experienced instructor and passionate paddler, Vincent’s journey began with windsurfing and kitesurfing, eventually leading him to the world of stand-up paddleboarding in 2015. Despite a car accident that ended his running career, Vincent embraced SUP racing, quickly becoming a standout competitor in long-distance and ultra-long-distance events. Together with the 3Bay Dreamteam, he has created a vibrant community of SUP enthusiasts.

Our History and Mission

The Belgian SUP Tour was established to unify and elevate stand-up paddleboarding in Belgium’s distinct regional landscape. Initially a project of the Flemish federation (WWSV), Vincent saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between the Flemish and Walloon regions. By fostering collaboration, he aims to create a national SUP and Surf federation in 2023. This initiative will help select athletes to represent Belgium in European and World Championships.

Event Organization and Selection

Vincent plays a key role in every BST event, ensuring consistent support and communication with local organizing clubs. Locations are carefully selected based on geographic distribution, water conditions, and club quality, with a growing number of participants from France and the Netherlands. The tour culminates in a final ranking at the end of the year, recognizing the achievements of all SUP competitors.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Belgium Today

Stand-up paddleboarding is thriving in Belgium, supported by two regional federations: WWSV for Flanders and FFYB for the Francophone region. The upcoming national federation will strengthen ties with international bodies, providing better support for athletes. Belgian paddlers, such as Kjell De Bruyn and Kaelan Lockhart, are gaining international recognition, and the Belgian SUP Tour is dedicated to nurturing both current champions and future talent.
